Log-In to WildStar, Earn "Mystery Boxes!" [UPDATE: now with pics!]

Thousands of people had a chance to experience WildStar for the first time this past weekend and plenty of feedback has been pouring into the official forums. Also on those forums, one big surprise announcement was the opportunity for beta players to get some nice free rewards just for logging in every day. David "Scooter" Bass took to the WildStar Forums and announced a new prize that beta weekend participants will receive for each day they log-in: The Mystery Box.

While we do not know the full contents of a Mystery Box, (if we did, it wouldn't be a mystery, would it?) Scooter does give us some great info on what they are and how to obtain them:

  • For every day you log into the game between now and launch (during pre-order weekends as well as Open Beta), you will receive THREE (3) Mystery Boxes at launch. ("Days" are defined by midnight UTC)
  • These boxes contain a random assortment of possible goodies, including XP buffs, unique runes, weapons, housing items, unique costumes, mounts, and more!
  • There is no limit to the number of boxes you can earn between now and launch, but you have to log in each day of the beta if you want to be counted!
  • We'll have more details on the website in the near future about what the specific items you can earn are; until then just keep logging in to earn more Mystery Boxes!

As Scooter mentioned, we can expect an official post about Mystery Boxes in the near future on the main website.

UPDATE: Scooter has updated his original post by adding some teaser images showing some of the contents one may find in the mystery box:

The Entertainer Mount Customization Set:

Savage Warpig Mount Variant:

Luminous Equivar Mount Variant:

Raidin' Costume Set:

If you didn't have an opportunity to earn any Mystery Boxes this past weekend, take heart - there will be plenty more chances in the future, including the next beta weekend that runs April 4-6th (Update: bonus weekend is running March 28-30!) . Keep in mind that Mystery Boxes won't be delivered until launch, so don't expect them to start showing up in game until then.

Want to play during the next beta weekend and earn some Mystery Boxes as well? Head over to pre-order page and get that client downloaded, Cupcake!
